EMAs 2005: The Wait Is Over
A grey, wet and hungover Lisbon awoke today for the 12th annual MTV Europe Music Awards. On site at the Atlantic Pavilion MTV.co.uk joined the world’s media for the build-up to tonight’s show. You can catch it on MTV UK tonight from 7pm.
Paparazzi from all over the globe will photograph and interview the stars of the show from the longest ever ‘red’ carpet stretching 65 metres long by 10 metres wide. In a twist on the usual, the ‘red’ carpet at this year’s Awards will be white with blue spots.
85 of the world’s top photographers have been accredited to the Awards, making a total of 700 press attending.
The production team, journalists, Awards staff and crew will make use of 140 phone lines, 15 fax machines, 29 ISDN lines, 21 laser printers, 20 photocopiers, 400 bins, 3 reception desks and 55 TV monitors with a Live show feed during the week of the Awards.
The MTV Europe Music Awards 2005 travel booking team has booked a phenomenal 1,247 flights and 6,697 hotel room nights for staff, crew and show talent attending the Awards this year.
More than 50 coaches and MPV mini-buses will be on constant call to ferry clients and guests to and from the ceremony and 32 coaches will be run as constant airport shuttles transporting show attendees, clients and staff.
A fleet of 120 limousines and people carriers will transport the stars to and from the Awards.
